Jeremy Hill extending Vidett proposition for healthcare trusts

Vidett has announced Jeremy Hill has joined to lead and develop its healthcare trust services, covering professional trusteeship and governance support for corporate sponsors of healthcare trusts.

Jeremy was formerly Chair of Standard Chartered Bank’s UK health trust, during his time there as global Head of Pensions & Benefits and Head of Wellbeing. Combined with his broader career as an actuary and global health and benefits consultant, he has developed unique insights into the combination of health management, financing, governance and trust operation. Since 2023 he has been acting as an independent adviser to a range of clients in relation to health, benefits, risk and wellbeing.

Jeremy’s experience and expertise, combined with Vidett’s core skills of trusteeship, governance and communication, enables an increased focus on the often unconsidered area of corporate health trusts. It allows companies to apply the same rigour in healthcare benefits as they apply to pensions, enabling them to strengthen governance, achieve improved value and better quality healthcare services and reduce operational burden on their internal teams.

Commenting on Jeremy’s appointment, Wayne Phelan, Chief Executive Officer at Vidett, said:  “Jeremy brings a great combination of skills, alongside a real interest in healthcare trusts. His extensive experience adds real value to employers looking to enhance their healthcare provision through a trust and fits perfectly with our governance and trusteeship expertise. The strengthening of Vidett’s healthcare trust services demonstrates our desire to support clients across a full range of benefit trusts. We’re excited to have Jeremy join us as a dedicated healthcare lead.”

Jeremy Hill added: “Healthcare trusts can be the forgotten child of UK corporate benefits. With increasing medical costs and challenges of access to care, most companies are reviewing their approach to providing medical benefits. A trust can be really effective for medium and large employers, but they do need the right oversight and expertise – something they haven’t always received.

“Our flexible model allows us to complement internal activities with third-party support. Alongside administration and consulting, that can mean independent trustees, governance to support effective ongoing management or a combination of the two.

“I’m pleased to be able to harness Vidett’s broader trustee and governance tools and experience, bringing them into this underdeveloped field to provide an effective client option.“
